1. Purpose
Humanitarian Heroes is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and ethical environment for all participants, including volunteers, staff, partners, donors, and community members. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behavior expected from anyone representing or engaging with our organization.
2. Scope
This Code applies to:

Partner organizations

Website users and account holders
It governs conduct both:

Offline (including fieldwork, events, and outreach activities)
3. Core Values
All participants agree to uphold the following values:

4. Expected Conduct
All participants must:

Act professionally and ethically at all times

Respect local laws, customs, and cultural norms

Protect the privacy and dignity of beneficiaries

Follow all organizational policies and safety protocols

Use respectful and non-harassing language
-
Obtain proper consent before capturing or sharing photos/videos

Represent Humanitarian Heroes accurately and responsibly
5. Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

Harassment, discrimination, or hate speech of any kind

Exploitation, abuse, or harm toward vulnerable populations

Fraud, theft, or misuse of funds or donations
-
Sexual misconduct or inappropriate relationships in humanitarian contexts

Sharing false, misleading, or harmful information
-
Unauthorized use of organizational branding or materials
-
Retaliation against individuals who report concerns
6. Safeguarding & Protection
Humanitarian Heroes has zero tolerance for:

Abuse or exploitation of children or vulnerable adults
-
Human trafficking, coercion, or forced labor
All participants must immediately report any safeguarding concerns.
7. Media & Communications

Always obtain informed consent before taking photos or videos
-
Do not exploit images of suffering for promotional purposes
-
Ensure all communications are truthful and respectful
-
Do not speak on behalf of the organization without authorization
8. International Volunteer Standards
All international volunteers must:

Respect host country laws, customs, and traditions
-
Not impose personal beliefs on communities
-
Follow all safety and travel protocols
-
Maintain appropriate boundaries
-
Never exchange aid for personal benefit
-
Protect identities and dignity of beneficiaries
-
Report any misconduct or safety concerns immediately
9. Conflict of Interest
Participants must disclose any personal, financial, or professional conflicts that could influence their role or decision-making.
10. Reporting Violations
If you witness or experience a violation of this Code, report it immediately:

11. Enforcement & Consequences
Violations of this Code may result in:

Removal from volunteer or partner programs

Suspension or termination of accounts

Legal action (if applicable)
Humanitarian Heroes reserves the right to take appropriate action based on the severity of the violation.
